After completing the steps outlined in this article you should be able to:

  1. Create a new Klaviyo Events Target
  2. Name the event that will be created in Klaviyo
  3. Define the customer report or query that will be used to create the event
  4. Select and map any additional data to push into the Klaviyo event

Watch the video or follow the steps below to setup your Klaviyo Events Target

Tip: The best way to use our Klaviyo Events Target is to send data that you want to use to trigger flows in Klaviyo.  Some great ideas:

  • Customers that made a purchase last week and now are VIP customers
  • Customers that were VIPs last week and are beyond their average purchase time putting them at increased risk of churning
  • Customers that purchased in a specific SKU category

General Setup

Once the Klaviyo Events has been selected, we must fill out the information in the Target to enable the Daasity platform to extract, map and push the data into the Target

  1. Give your new Target a name so you can find it in the Daasity platform by naming the Target in the red box below
  2. The Target will create events in Klaviyo.  Name the events that will be created in Klaviyo by entering a name in the blue box below
  3. Want Daasity to check if a profile exists in Klaviyo prior to sending the list of Customers?  Check this box if you want to limit the events created to customers that already exist in Klaviyo

Tip: Checking the box for "Only update existing profiles in Klaviyo" is really useful if you sell in other places like Amazon where you don't want to create profiles for those customers in Klaviyo.  This functionality ensures that you limit the Audience to customers that currently exist in Klaviyo

Warning: You must have the Daasity Klaviyo Integration installed if you want to use the "Only update existing profiles in Klaviyo" functionality

Authorize Daasity

Next you need to find the Private API Key for your Klaviyo account.  Follow the link in blue to find you Klaviyo API key and then copy that value into the box below

Tip: For Klaviyo Events you generally want to push two Source fields and so your Audience Source should only have two columns:

  1. The field that you will use to match to the profile (email or phone number)
  2. The field that contains the value you want in the event as this will enable you to create segmentation in a Flow within Klaviyo

Mapping the Data

Once the Audience Source has been selected, the Daasity platform will extract a sample file to determine what data is returned from the extract and list the Source fields that are available to be mapped.

Select or enter the Destination for each Source that you want mapped and pushed to the Klaviyo Event.  If you leave a Destination blank then Daasity will not push that data element into the Target

Note: The Klaviyo Endpoints require you to use a primary field (email or phone number) to match the incoming data to a profile.  You will need to map one of your Source fields to either $email or $phone_number as a Klaviyo destination
