Dashboard Description
The Daily Flash vs Plan dashboard gives you the same information as the Daily Flash dashboard, however all comparisons are vs your plan numbers from your Revenue Plan BSD. This dashboard is focusing on the same six metrics:
- Traffic
- CVR (Conversion Rate)
- Orders
- AOV
- Gross Sales
- Vendor Reported ROAS
The Daily Flash vs Plan gives you comparisons for each metric vs plan over four different time frames, Yesterday, Week to Date (WTD), Month to Date (MTD), Year to Date (YTD). Note that the plan numbers are coming from your Revenue Plan and Marketing Plan BSD sheets.
In the middle of the dashboard are trend visualizations to show you how performance is trending over the last 90 days. Note that the filters at the top of the dashboard can be used to change those timeframes and to change the date types in the visualizations (you can change the daily numbers to weekly or monthly).
Getting an understanding of your brand’s current trajectory, relative to past and planned, is crucial in understanding the overall health of your brand. We’ve highlighted key performance metrics to help you stay on top of your data and answer the question “Is my brand performing to expectations?”. At-a-glance indicators tell you if things are going well and you can focus on strategy, or if things are going off-track, you have an idea of where to dig in and fix.
HOW TO USE THIS DASHBOARD:
The Daily Flash vs Plan dashboard can be explored like any other dashboard, however, it was designed to be scheduled as a daily or weekly email attachment. For more information on how to schedule a dashboard or report, see here.
DATA WARNING:
The Daily Flash vs Plan dashboard contains different data depending on the product type:
GROWTH
- Order data includes all non-retail orders
- Conversion data includes total traffic divided by non-recurring orders (subscription orders are excluded)
PRO
- Order data includes all Daasity Valid non-retail orders. See here for more information on Daasity valid vs valid orders
- Conversion data includes total traffic divided by non-recurring orders (subscription orders are excluded)
It is important to make sure that the plan data you are inputting in the Revenue Plan BSD matches with the order data that you are showing. For instance, do not include Retail data in your plan data as it will not be included in your actual order data.
Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Annual Section
In the image below, there are 3 areas outlined.
Section A: The top section shows the six key metrics outlined above for Yesterday. This also provides comparisons against your plan data. The "0's" indicate that there is no plan information entered for those metrics.
NOTE ON AMAZON DATA:
If you are including Amazon data in your plan, note that how Amazon classifies transactions is different from Shopify. Amazon may have orders that have a status of "Pending", which typically indicates the payment method has not been verified. When orders have a status of Pending, Amazon does not include the $ value of the order in its API data, which means you may be under-reporting your Amazon revenue in the days after an order was actually placed. Performance Visualizations
Section B: In the center of the report you will see graphics of the same six key metrics over the last 90 days. These make it easier to see trends over time and identify, for example, when a key metric may have started declining.
WTD, MTD, YTD Section
Section C: The bottom section mimics the top, but uses the time periods for Week to Date, Month to Date, and Year to Date with comparisons vs plan.
